We were just asking why 90?!? Deadly weekend in Charlotte brings 2019 homicide count to 92. There were three homicides over the weekend. Two involved shootings and one involved a truck that intentionally hit a motorcycle, police say.

After another deadly weekend in the Queen City, the 2019 homicide count for Charlotte is up to 92. Charlotte's homicide count for the year has now well surpassed the total number of homicides in 2018, which was 57. The city is on track for the deadliest year in decades.

There were three homicides over the weekend, bringing the city to that number. Of the latest homicides, two involved shootings. In the other, police say a truck intentionally hit a motorcycle.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police investigated four shootings total in a 72-hour span over the weekend.  It was the third straight weekend with multiple shootings in the Queen City.

Charlotte's homicide count for the year has now well surpassed the total number of homicides in 2018, which was 57. The city is on track for the deadliest year in decades.
