The Ministry of Health (MoH) has officially launched a campaign to raise awareness about the risks of lead poisoning.

This initiative coincides with the International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week of Action, running from October 22 to 25, 2024.
The campaign, themed âA Bright Future Begins with a Lead-Free Kenya,â aims to highlight the severe health impacts of lead exposure, especially on vulnerable groups like children and pregnant women.
Speaking at the launch event in Nairobi the, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, emphasized the governmentâs commitment to finalizing policies, enforcing regulations, and rolling out a national awareness campaign to tackle lead poisoning

The Ministry of Health is partnering with various organizations including USAID Momentum, CEJAD, UNEP, WHO, and UNICEF to raise awareness about lead exposure risks, focusing on vulnerable groups like children and pregnant women.
