CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland Browns owners are making their case for a publicly-funded stadium in Brook Park on the argument that a domed stadium will bring more major events and concerts to Northeast Ohio.
For months, the team has refused to share potential financing plans for construction of its $2.4 billion dream stadium. The Browns again refused to share that information this week. While owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam want local and state taxpayers to pony up $1.2 billion for it, Cuyahoga County has already refused to chip in, and it’s unclear whether state lawmakers will agree to contribute hundreds of millions in state tax dollars.
