Landlords, officials say state’s lead inspection laws need clarification

While short-term rental landlords are exempt from lead inspection requirements, state officials are ramping up warnings to ensure some other owners of older homes comply with lead inspection laws.

Children living in the four core cities (4.4%) were three times more likely than children in the remainder of the state (1.4%) to have confirmed elevated blood lead levels of ≥5 µg/dL.
