Birmingham police and Jefferson County sheriffâs deputies responded to the scene just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The location is a neighborhood in the 500 block of 26th Avenue N.W.
According to police radio traffic, the victim was shot in unincorporated Jefferson County and ran a block before collapsing inside the city limits.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Because the shooting happened in the unincorporated area, the sheriffâs office will handle the investigation.
No additional details have been released.
It is the second deadly shooting in the Center Point area in under 48 hours.
