KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
A boy shot and killed at a home near 33rd and Bales Sunday night has been identified as Tacome Kindred, 15.
According to Kansas City police, detectives are making progress in identifying witnesses and finding the shooter.
According to KCPD numbers, Kindred is the 17th homicide victim under age 18 in Kansas City this year.
He’s also the 90th Black male homicide victim, or about two-thirds of all victims.
Black men and women together make up about three-quarters of all homicide victims, while Blacks people are just over a quarter of Kansas City’s population.
“We have a black-on-black problem, and so we have to address it, or nothing is going to change. We got to stop killing each other. We have to learn how to deal with conflict, know how to walk away, agree to disagree,” Temple said.
A neighbor said Kindred hung out on the block with other teens and did not cause any problems.
