Jackson police said a 21-year-old died early Thursday morning after a shooting on Fontaine Avenue.

Public Information Officer Tommie Brown said the homicide happened around 2:40 a.m. Thursday in the 3400 block of Fontaine Avenue.

Upon officers' arrival, they discovered Equarius Lewis, 21, dead with “multiple gunshot wounds.”

There is no suspect information available at the time of this publication.

“The Jackson Police Department is urging anyone with information related to this incident to come forward,” Brown said.
